My drawings and paintings are inspired by art history, folklore and the world around me. I combine these things, aiming to make pictures that are curious and thought-provoking.

Relocating from London to Plymouth had a big impact on my work. I currently live on the edge of Dartmoor, just outside the city...and I find myself inhabiting the imagined world I was envisioning back in London - strange and dreamlike. Today, I work from life a lot more. In spite of this, the work can be even more weird (this is a good thing to my mind)!   

I am fortunate that the moorlands, coastline and city, as well as the local history and folklore, provide everything I need to create the kind of drawings and paintings that I want to.
